{"id":6755,"date":"2018-12-28T10:51:43","date_gmt":"2018-12-28T10:51:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cidoc.icom.cust.oxymium.net\/archive\/archives\/2003-st-petersburg\/"},"modified":"2018-12-28T10:58:10","modified_gmt":"2018-12-28T10:58:10","slug":"2003-st-petersburg","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/icom-documentation.mini.icom.museum\/fr\/archives\/conferences_passees\/2003-st-petersburg\/","title":{"rendered":"2003 St. Petersburg"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"RTE_CONTENT\"> <!--TYPO3SEARCH_begin--> \t<!--  CONTENT ELEMENT, uid:5543\/text [begin] --> \t\t<\/p>\n<div id=\"c5543\"> \t\t<!--  Text: [begin] --> \t\t\t<\/p>\n<h1>Electronic museums in a modern society: challenges and contradictions <br \/>CIDOC 2003<\/h1>\n<p>The 2003 CIDOC meeting took place on 1st &#8211; 5th September 2003 in the  Marble Palace of the State Russian Museum, St. Petersburg, Russia, in  cooperation with ADIT (&#8220;Automation Directions in Museums and Information  Technologies&#8221;), a Russian association of museum experts concerned with  the creation of electronic resources and presentation of museum  information on the Internet. <\/p>\n<p>The topic of the conference was &#8220;The electronic potential of a  museum: incentives and limitations, achievements and problems&#8221;, and it  had the following objectives:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>analysis of the main achievements in the field of storage, restoration, conservation and educational work; <\/li>\n<li>discussion of pressing technical, technological, phychological and social problems and restrictions; <\/li>\n<li>outline of prospective areas of development and the further  penetration of information technologies into the traditional museum  environment; <\/li>\n<li>incentives for innovation. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The conference intended to help the participants to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>develop priorities and strategies for the use of information technology; <\/li>\n<li>select standards for recording and for storage of images; <\/li>\n<li>plan joint international projects. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The web pages of the CIDOC 2003 annual conference <\/p>\n<p>The local contacts were: <\/p>\n<p> <b>Russian Museum<\/b>  <br \/>Lyudmila M.
